Tandoori chicken pizza is a fusion dish that combines the traditional flavors of Indian tandoori chicken with the convenience and popularity of pizza. It is a flavorful and delicious dish that is easy to make at home with the following recipe:

Ingredients: For the pizza dough:

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the tandoori chicken:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons tandoori masala
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

For the pizza toppings:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Instructions:

  1. To make the pizza dough, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes foamy.
  2. Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture and mix until a soft, elastic dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  5. To make the tandoori chicken, combine the yogurt, tandoori masala, garlic, salt, cumin, paprika, coriander, turmeric, and cayenne pepper in a large mixing bowl. Stir to mix well.
  6. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for maximum flavor.
  7. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Place a baking sheet or pizza stone in the oven to preheat.
  8. Roll the pizza dough out to about 1/4 inch thick. Place the dough on a floured pizza peel or cutting board.
  9. Spread the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the pizza dough.
  10. Top the cheese with the tandoori chicken, chopped onion, diced bell pepper, and chopped cilantro.
  11. Slide the pizza onto the preheated baking sheet or pizza stone and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve hot, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
