Paruppu Kulambu
The most well-known and popular food in a wedding lunch is Paruppu Kulambu, which is also extremely healthy and nutritious as well as high in protein. I always make this whenever I don’t have enough time to cook or when I’m bored because it’s quick and simple to prepare. The combination of dal with potato fry rice.

Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Difficulty: 3/5
Spice Level: 3/5
INGREDIENT
1 Cup Thoor Dal / Thuvaram Paruppu
10 Shallots / small onions
3 cloves of garlic

Cooking Method
Step 1) In a pressure cooker, add the cleaned Thoor Dal, enough water, shallots, garlic, green chillies, turmeric powder, hing/asafoetida, and chilli powder. Simmer for 4 whistles until the dal is fully cooked (100% cooked) without any chunks.
Step 2) To temper the heat, add a teaspoon of oil when the oil is hot enough, then mustard seeds, followed by dry red chillies. End with curry leaves and turn off the heat when you’ve added all of them. When everything’s finished cooking, combine all of it together in a mixing dish.
